About the Legion

Since 1919, The American Legion has operated with a clear and enduring purpose: to serve those who have served, strengthen the nation, and uphold the values that define American democracy.

That purpose is built on four foundational pillars:

  • Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation

  • National Security

  • Americanism

  • Children & Youth

These pillars guide our Post 2527 members’ advocacy, outreach, and service across the Bailey, Conifer, and Pine communities.

The American Legion is a non-partisan nonprofit, founded by an Act of Congress after World War I, The American Legion fiercely advocates for the unique needs of every generation of veterans, service members, and their families who pledge to protect our nation.

Today, we are committed to destigmatizing mental health support, offering peer-to-peer resources, and empowering everyone to Be The One in the fight to prevent veteran suicide.
